Healthwatch East Sussex Annual Event 2022

On the 14th July 2022, Healthwatch East Sussex hosted our 2022 Annual Event at Uckfield Civic Centre.

As our first ‘in person’ annual event since 2019 it was great to see approximately 50 people in attendance, made up of members of the public and our colleagues from statutory and voluntary organisations.

Many thanks to all those who attended, and we hope that you found the event useful and enjoyed it as much as we did. It was great to be able to share our achievements in 2021-22 and plans for 2022-23, as well as to receive feedback and engage in lively discussions about the future of health and care in East Sussex.

If you were not able to attend on the day, you can view the event programme and view copies of the presentations from our speakers here.

Guest Speakers

On the day, we heard from 3 speakers from the NHS, local authority, and voluntary sector:

  • Ashley Scarff – Deputy Managing Director for the East Sussex and Brighton and Hove areas within NHS Sussex.

Breakout Session on health and care in 2022 and beyond

Following our speakers and questions and answer session, we hosted a breakout session discussing health and care in 2022 and beyond.

Within these sessions our groups discussed the following questions.

  • What are the greatest opportunities for making long term improvements to our health and care?
  • What are the greatest risks posed by changes to our health and care?
  • What practical suggestions do you have for making improvements to our health and care over the next year?
  • What should HWES priorities be over the next 12 months and beyond?

The notes from the breakout discussions will be posted on our website here shortly.
