Move in is an annual event where almost 300 student volunteers help to welcome students to the University of Georgia. Each student volunteer has a particular role: working in the parking lots, directing students and their families to the right locations for check-in and move in, helping with sustainability efforts, and other duties that help to make the move-in process as smooth as possible. Our volunteers are the one of the largest parts of the move-in process, and they did an amazing job this year!
UGA welcomes largest freshman class
by Sarah Freeland for Columns
The University of Georgia’s class of 2026 is its biggest and one of its most academically qualified yet. More than 6,200 new first-year students start classes at UGA Aug. 17, selected from a record number of nearly 40,000 applications.
The students have impressive academic achievements, high school GPAs and test scores. They also excel outside the classroom, with extracurricular participation and service to their communities.
Hear this important message from our newest residence hall.

UGA Night at the Braves
Our Night at the Braves is on August 30th at 7:20pm. Last year we sold out our ticket package, so this year we have upped our goal to 3000 tickets! Tickets are across 4 different sections of Truist Park and will vary in price depending which section you choose. Each ticket includes a dual branded UGA/Braves seatback, as well as a donation to the Atlanta Chapter Scholarship Fund.
Coinciding with the game, we will also be hosting a pregame tailgate and watch party at ASW Distillery at the Battery ATL. Beginning at 5:30pm all alumni and UGA fans, regardless if they purchased tickets to the game or not, are invited to join us for a pregame tailgate and gathering! ASW is a UGA owned business and have been excellent partners for us in the past. Food will be served with the assistance from B100 awardee The Spotted Trotter and will include “gameday food” with burgers, dogs, and various sweets. We will also have Hairy Dawg in attendance for this family friendly event! For those that don’t purchase tickets, ASW will show the Braves game inside the venue.
