I love lunches. More often than not, we take the time to make and enjoy lunches in the studio. I purposely built a disproportionately large kitchen in the new studio to do just this, host long, slow and leisurely meals. Like the kind, you have in Europe, where there is wine and no one looking at their watches, unkept time to bask in the environment and company that surrounds you.
About Ursa Major - Rajen Toor grew up in the vines around Oliver B.C, under the Ursa Major Constellation. Ursa Major was born out of curiosity, questioning how wine was made and wondering what else could be coaxed from grapes that had only had one thing expected from them- consistency. Rajen has been diligently transitioning his family's estate to organic practices and continues to make unique and poetic vintages that garner high accolades in the wine world.
About Kovic Prevost- Kovic has a romantic attachment to the landscape. Having spent years travelling the world, and experiencing culture through food, Kovic has returned to Vancouver to open Is That French.
Is That French constantly converses with what is in season and at its best. Drawing from his personal experiences, chef Kovic creates dishes that convey his appreciation for time and place.
About Janaki Larsen Studios- While Janaki has been more recently known as a potter, she is also the co-founder of Le Marché St.George and co-designer of La Fabrique St.George. These ventures share a love of the handmade, whether it's ceramics, wine, food, or textiles; her respect for materials, minimal intervention, and process guide her entrepreneurial choices. She also loves to createunexpected experiences in unexpected places.
