A Summer of Fun!
July 20th, 2022

Pozdravljeni, dragi prijatelji!
(hello, dear firends)

It has only been 2 months since we sent out our last newsletter, and yet so, so much has happened! Thank you for your faithful prayers for our family and team, we know that God is using you to encourage us, bless us, and keep us safe. Here is what the past two months have held for us:

Our New Team Members Are Here!

All three of our new team members - Audrey, Tyler and Al - made it safely to Slovenia! They have all moved into their respective apartments, and have jumped right into ministry alongside us. Last week we were able to get away for an orientation and prayer retreat. We went over our handbook, prayed for Slovenia, and the ministries we are a part of, and got to know each other a little better. We had a wonderful time, and are confident that the next two years will be a time of great ministry together! This week we also submitted their applications for residence permits. This is always a bit anxiety-inducing, as there are so many things needed for it to be approved and go well, and of course it is so vital for them to be able to stay in Slovenia. The lady helping us apply said that it will take 2-3 months for the process. Would you please cover this situation in prayer?

Church Ministries

As the school year was winding down, our Sunday school classes also had an "end of the year service", which was a lovely bell choir performance led by Abigail. That Sunday was also the church picnic, where we all got to socialize, play games, eat yummy food and relax together as a church family. The MA's did a great job planning fun activities for our youngest members!

Slovenian Fire Bible

We are incredibly excited to announce, that the Fire Bible is coming to Slovenia! Representatives from the Fire Bible visited Slovenia to meet with the Slovenian Bible Society - this was important, because they own the copyright to the Slovenian language Bible, which we need their approval to use. They were able to come to an agreement and sign a contract, which means the first steps can be taken towards Slovenes having access to a Pentecostal Study Bible in their heart language! While the team from the States was here, they were able to interview two of the local pastors, describing how a tool like this would make such a huge impact on Slovenian believers. This process will take a couple years - translation, editing, printing, etc - but we are so thankful to the Lord for the doors he's opened to make this a reality!

 Prayer Requests

- Dan and Abigail will be traveling back to the States next week to represent the Southeast Europe area at the National Chi Alpha conference. If you've seen the news, you'll know that air travel is very stressful currently - with lots of delays, lost luggage and cancelations. Please be praying for traveling mercies for us, and a fruitful time together with Chi Alpha.

- We are starting to plan out some of our upcoming ministries - English Club, Royal Rangers, Mommy and Me. Please join us in praying for God's guidance and wisdom as we move forward.

- Next month Dan will be at Royal Ranger camp, where he will be leading the daily devotions, preaching, and teaching a workshop. Please pray that God would give him the words to say, and that hearts would be touched.

English Camp

As many of you know, our annual English Camp is one of our biggest ministries! It takes months of planning, and the week itself is non-stop work and fun. We are so grateful that all three of our MA's were able to finish itinerating, and made it to Slovenia in time for English Camp, because their help was vital!
This year we had 73 kids in attendance - the largest number we've every had! Each day the kids had workshops in English, an English lesson, large group games, and a small group session, where they were presented a clear Gospel message. We are extremely grateful that one of the local principals allowed us to meet in the school. This allowed us to meet in actual classrooms, gave us access to a gym on rainy days, and made it so that the kids were able to have a nice, hot lunch each day. We had an amazing time, and we are excited, and hopeful to see many of these kids come to English Club in the summer!

Family Update

In May we had the great opportunity to be together with all of our Europe Assemblies of God colleagues in Croatia! Unfortunately, our son, Aidan broke his arm the second night we were there. After an overwhelming visit to a Croatian hospital, Aidan's main concern was whether or not he would still be able to be baptized. (This conference happens once every 3 years, and one of the very special events that takes place is an opportunity for missionary kids to get baptized with their "missionary family" as witnesses.) Dan, and Abigail's dad, Paul Gracza (missionary to Hungary) were able to cover up Aidan's cast with a plastic bag, and together baptize him, as he so very much wanted. Before he was baptized, he asked if he could say something, and said "I love Jesus" in Slovene. It was an extremely precious moment for our family.
Sadly, after we got home to Slovenia, and had Aidan's arm checked out by a doctor here, they said that his arm had been set incorrectly, and he required surgery. Many of you who follow us on social media were praying for his surgery and recovery - we are so grateful to all of you, thank you! Aidan's surgery was successful. and after a number of weeks in a cast, he is now out of that as well. He still needs to take is easy for a bit, and will have a pin removed in 5 months, but we are very thankful that his arm is on the mend! We are also extremely proud of him for finishing his school year strong, while having to do his end-of-the-year tests with his non-dominant hand.
