Hello Timebankers!

We are very excited to let you know that we are looking to recruit Trustees here at Timebank South West.

"What is a trustee?" -  I hear you say
"What do I have to do?" - You ponder
"I just don't have the time" - You tell yourself

Take a look below to find out all you need to know about how to be a trustee with us here at Timebank and how YOU can make a difference to Timebanking in Plymouth.

What is Timebanking?
Members exchange their skills and time.
Our Values
We believe that people make a community because everyone has something positive to give, no matter how small the contribution. Communities have an abundance of skills which can often go untapped and undiscovered. Timebanking creates an opportunity for those skills to be used, exchanged, and celebrated.
Helping others works best when it’s a two-way street. People who exchange their time and skills with others help create a greater sense of community where everyone helps each other.
We believe that people care and come together to support each other when needed. Actively helping others is invaluable ‘work’ in the community that goes beyond money. The smallest action such as changing a lightbulb or taking the time to have a cup of tea with someone can make all the difference to someone’s day and life.
What is a Trustee?
A trustee provides you the opportunity to support an organisation that is making a real difference to individuals or society as a whole. Contribute your skills and expertise to a cause that is important to you. Play a fundamental role in the strategic development of the organisation.
Sharing the knowledge and skills you have gained in your employment, previous interests or tuition. Use this to guide and progress Timebanking in Plymouth, ensure the team meet the needs of the organisation and have up to date polices, procedures and work contacts.
Discover how Timebanking builds confidence and helps create mutual, social and practical support networks.
Who can be a Trustee?

Anyone!

Whether you are an individual or part of an organisation your knowledge is valuable to us, we encourage both Timebank members as well as external professionals to consider offering their support behind the scenes.
This is a serious opportunity to provide key input into the development and day to day running of Timebank.
So if you are an NHS worker, have experience in Community Development, Work with older people, have experience in youth engagement, can connect the community or are just plain interested in getting involved, please take the time to have a read of our information pack, give us a call and find out all you need to know about being a Trustee with Timebank.
How much time do I have to give?
  • The board meets bi-monthly typically for 1.5 hours
  • There are three subgroups that meet bimonthly (in the same month of the full board meeting). They are:  Strategic Direction, Finance & HR
Trustees are invited to commit to one or more of these subgroups or to attend the meetings as and when they are able.
