This is an excellent opportunity for both Cadets and Seniors to get closer to achieving their GTM 3 qualification or renewing it. For anyone working on GTM 2, 1, or Leader, we are still looking for additional staff members. While there is no plan for advanced training, if there is a qualified SET, we will facilitate advanced training. (Read more)

Region Flight Academy
Two South Dakota Wing members attended CAPs National Emergency Services Academy (NESA) in Indiana for two weeks in June. Both worked with CAP’s small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS), commonly called drones. (Read more)
2020 Joint Dakota Encampment Concludes
Close to 100 CAP members, including 34 cadets and 10 senior members from South Dakota Wing, were at the Joint Dakota Encampment at Camp Grafton, Devil’s Lake ND. Twenty-one basic cadets attended from South Dakota Wing and two were in the Advanced Leadership Course, held at the same time as the encampment. Photos and videos on the FB page.
Next year, the Joint Dakota Encampment will be in South Dakota, with Lt. Tom Anez as encampment commander.
SDWG to Receive
G1000 Simulator
South Dakota Wing will soon receive a G1000 glass cockpit simulator, funded by North Central Region. The simulator, which works with standard flight simulator software, is intended for pilot training, but may also be used for Aerospace Education. (Read more)
