Text: Luke 10:25-37 - The Parable of the Good Samaritan
5th Sunday after Pentecost
Blessing of July Birthdays
The Parable of the Good Samaritan is one of the best-known stories of the bible and it is a classic. Pastor Lori will attempt to offer a fresh take by using an interpretation that is over fifty years old.

PROJECT TANEHOPE FOUNDER DANNY LAISER IN MOUNT VERNON!
Danny Laiser will be in Mount Vernon this Saturday through next Saturday. It is our hope that he will be able to join us in person in worship this Sunday, and that we can hear from him afterwards about how the medical dispensary is going, as well as his new work with young people.
LADIES’ NIGHT OUT JULY 21
The next Ladies’ Night Out is Thursday, July 21. We will be meeting at Morning Glory Farm (just south of Mount Vernon and Hwy1) at 5:00. There is a food truck at the farm as well as a farmers market and plenty of seating (most of it in the shade!). Please let Emily Fitzpatrick know if you plan to attend (elle_incarnate@yahoo.com). See you then!
HOW TO VISIT AL AHRENS
Our friend, Al Ahrens, is at Anamosa Care Center and he loves visitors. He does some therapy in the early morning, but otherwise is available, usually after 9. The Anamosa Care Center is just west of the Anamosa exit off of Highway 13.
“God’s Good Creation” VBS a Success!
Sunday through Thursday (June 26-30)
A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful volunteers from our congregation! Kristi Karwal Clark, Sue Deibner, Jennifer Lengwin, Sara Lenhart, Beth Simon, Emily Walsh, Jonathan Walsh and Lori Wunder all helped make the children marvel at how good God’s world is and to consider how they can work together to end hunger.
NO COMMITTEE NIGHT IN JULY OR AUGUST
Given how busy summer schedules can be, we will not meet the first Wednesday of July or August. However, we will kick off the fall with a Committee Night POTLUCK on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:30pm!
ON SITE WORSHIP & MASKING GUIDELINES
The Session of First Presbyterian Church has made decisions regarding gathering and masking in accordance with CDC guidelines.
The Community Levels metric takes into consideration whether or not local hospitals are under strain from COVID-19. In counties where the level is Low or Medium, wearing a mask is optional. Linn County is currently at Medium Community Level as determined by the CDC. Wearing masks at church is OPTIONAL. KN95 masks for adults, youth and children are provided by the church for anyone who prefers to wear one.
