CUFI Prayer
For Japan
Pray for Japan following the tragic assassination of the former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. He was a good friend to Israel and has received many tributes from Israeli politicians for his efforts in strengthening ties between Israel and Japan. Pray for his family and close friends, and also about the shockwaves that this evil action will cause across the country.
For the UK
Pray for the UK following the resignation of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. The dramatic events of the past week have ushered in a period of political instability and uncertainty that the government will hope to resolve with the appointment of a new Prime Minister soon. Pray for Britain during this transition. Also, pray for the right person for this important role. Irrespective of our individual political and personality preferences for the next leader of this country, pray for a leader who will stand firmly with Israel; who will influence Foreign Policy so that Britain is even more favourable towards Israel. And whilst we recognise Britain's relationship with Israel as one of our priorities as Christians, we also pray for the promotion of Judeo-Christian values across the spectrum of government policy. These values and support for Israel are, in fact, inseparable. We pray that the United Kingdom will get back to the Bible and be blessed.
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence."
1 Timothy 2:1-2
Thank you for joining with us in prayer for Israel today.
