Protect your motorcycle, moped or scooter from theft

Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a moped, scooter or motorcycle - especially if they are left with poor security - but our tips will help reduce the chance of theft.

Join millions of people reducing their plastic waste.

Plastic Free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?  Follow the link here   (There's a great plastic pesky quiz to help you focus on what you are doing and what might come next).

Homelessness is a clearly visible issue on Britain’s streets in recent years and it is a perilous place to be. That is true whether the weather is hot or cold but extreme weather can make life on the streets even more dangerous. Often it is during heatwaves or during the festive season when temperatures drop when you can make the most difference to people’s lives.  Official figures showed 2,440 people were estimated to be sleeping rough in England on a single night in autumn 2021.

StreetLink exists to help end rough sleeping by enabling members of the public to connect people sleeping rough with the local services that can support them.  StreetLink is a website, mobile app and phone service for England and Wales, which enables people to send an alert when they see someone sleeping rough to connect that person to local support services that can help to end their homelessness.  For more information and advise on how we can all help click here

Are you a crafter?  Would you like to meet up in Cherry Hinton with other crafters?  After the Jubilee Event at the Village Centre we have had some interest in starting an evening craft group.  No venue or dates set yet but would be good to gauge interest before moving forward.  If you would like to express interest (no commitment needed at this stage) please email chragroup@oulook.com   If you are already involved with a group and looking for new members please get in touch so we can share your details.  Update:  The group have asked us to thank people who have already been in touch - it seems there is enough interest to run an initial event in early September - the group will get in contact with those who have emailed their details- there is still time to show interest.
Have you spotted the yellow duckling at Cherry Hinton Hall?  A couple of pictures below a few weeks apart.  Do you have any pictures of the park or any other parts of Cherry Hinton you would like to share?  Please do send them over so we can include them - remember not everyone gets out about and we are sure sharing the beauty of our area will be a welcome addition to the weekly e-news.
