We received this message from Tres Dias.

Over the years, many of you in the Tres Dias Community have come to know Kenny Howard. He lived in Rockford and worked on many retreat weekends, making a lot of friends along the way. I'm sorry to report that Kenny's caregiver found him unresponsive in his wheelchair Tue morning (7/5) after the holiday weekend.

Kenny had profound cerebral palsy since birth ( he would have turned 60 next month) and if you didn't listen closely, he was often somewhat hard to understand. But his mind was as clear as a bell. He had a very close relationship with Jesus, so he didn't let his disabilities stop him from working at all those retreats!! He was a powerhouse whenever he was assigned to work in the chapel, but one of the most incredible and mesmerizing moments on ANY Tres Dias retreat (ever) was when he was given the opportunity to present the Environment Rollo on weekend #21.

In addition to his love for Christ was his love for sports. He loved the Packers, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also loved arguing whenever someone questioned his loyalty to teams from beyond the borders of Illinois and Wisconsin!

Ken's two sisters and their husbands live in Sterling, IL and are in the process of deciding what the arrangements will be and when. Once we have further information, we'll be sure to pass it on. In the meantime, picture Kenny with his huge smile, finally being free of the debilitating physical boundaries he had here on earth...safe within the arms of his Savior.
