VISTA Educational Curriculum Coordinator

Goal of the Project: To build upon SHPA’s Resident Leadership & Empowerment Program for the purpose of resident engagement to encourage participation, change and growth through educational presentations. The Educational Curriculum Coordinator will develop educational programming addressing topics in the areas of substance use, tenant rights/responsibilities, empowerment, and community organizing for systems change through peer engagement with emphasis in diversity, equity, and inclusion. The educational trainings will be performed as outreach to persons with lived experience who reside in low-income Permanent Supportive Housing to expand and enhance program.
 
 
Illinois Training & Technical Assistance Project Coordinator

Secondary: Training and Development 
 
Goal of the Project: The Vista worker will develop a training manual that will educate and train supportive service staff on evidence-based best practices for the purpose of capacity building in organizations that serve persons who are affected by diversity, equity, and inclusion and lived experience of substance use disorder, and/or co-occurring mental health issues or other chronic disabilities.  
 

Illinois Supportive Housing Assessment (ISHA) Project Coordinator

Goal of the Project: Illinois’ Supportive Housing Assessment (ISHA) project is the inaugural report on opportunities and barriers to meeting Illinois supportive housing need. Short-term achievements will be a universal needs objective in the amount of supportive housing available and needed for the housing vulnerable populations in Illinois including persons with substance use disorders. The long-term impact will enable Illinois to develop the amount of supportive housing needed to ensure the housing vulnerable, including the substance use population, can attain housing security. Supportive housing is an evidence-based housing intervention that provides affordable housing and supportive services to those who need them.
