We'll announce the application deadline at our Study Abroad Town Hall a week before classes begin on campus! Registration information is listed in this newsletter issue under "Save the Date"

Should I submit my application early?

You should begin your study abroad planning early, but you likely won't begin an application until you've selected a program. Most students finalize their program preference selection by October after attending the Global Opportunities Expo. Registration information is listed in this newsletter issue under "Save the Date"

Explore API Summer Internship Locations

Pros:

- Real, tangible work or research experience to highlight on your resume to future employers, organizations, and societies.

- Capstone your experience by earning a digital badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, personal websites, & more.

- First-year-students interested in engaging in research instead should consider this program as this could help you gain experience for future opportunities by developing your critical thinking skills!

- There are additional summer study abroad scholarships out there you can apply for to help offset the costs of your experience.

Cons:

- API Internships are not paid internship experiences.

- Students will need to be flexible on their internship location as some locations are better suited for specific placements.

- These programs are not ideal for first-year-students without previous work experience or the completion of foundational courses in the career they are hoping to intern in.

- Students have typically exhausted their current financial aid package by the summer term and thus students cannot directly apply their current scholarships, grants, or loans towards these programs.
