Hello Technology Alberta Community!
FIRST Jobs - New Cohort Applications to Open Monday July 18
Our last cohort featured amazing companies from across the province, such as LiiT Care Connect in Airdrie and Sarcomere Dynamics in St. Albert. We even had some award winners, like Edmonton’s Fly and Fetch who won at Banff’s “Herstory” back in June, and Calgary’s Red Iron Labs, who won an Ember award at the start of the year!
Just like our companies, the students in our program shined as well. Students participated from their schools across the province, from SAIT and Mount Royal University to NAIT and the University of Alberta. These talented students are game developers, electrical designers, business analysts, and so many other roles in the vast tech sector that will go on to contribute amazing things to our province.
This week, I am excited to share with you that on Monday, July 18, applications will be opening for both companies and students to participate in the Fall 2022 Cohort of the FIRST Jobs WIL Program! Through this cohort, 50 Alberta Tech companies will be able to hire a current student or new graduate, giving them the opportunity to gain part-time work-integrated-learning experience. The work placements will begin in September 2022.
For information on timelines and application requirements, check out the “Programs Piece” Section of this newsletter. You can also learn more on our website and as always, you can always reach out to me in the main Technology Alberta inbox: info@technologyalberta.ca
Thank you again everyone for being interested in our programs, and for building an amazing community here in Alberta.
