SPIRITUAL CINEMA 17th JULY

Unfortunately, we have had to postpone Sunday's showing of West Side Story. It will be re-scheduled later in the year. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.  However, this might come as a relief to some as the forecast is that it will be very hot on Sunday!

SMARTIES CHILDREN'S CHURCH
This Sunday is our last session before we break for the summer. We will return on Sunday 11th September.

MARTY'S PLAYGROUP
Marty's Playgroup has now finished for the summer break. They will return on Wednesday 14th September. Have a lovely summer!

BROWNIES
The 4th Horsley Brownies are looking for new leaders to join the existing leader team from this September. Brownies are girls aged between 7 and 10 who meet weekly on Mondays during term time in the St. Martin’s Community Hall on Forest Road, Effingham Junction from 5.30 to 7 pm. Being a leader is fun, enjoyable and rewarding, you will be supported as you learn the ropes, joining an experienced team of existing leaders. You can commit as much or as little time as you are able to offer.
To find out more please email Elizabeth at horsleybrownies@yahoo.co.uk – she  would love to hear from you!

FOODBANK
Please remember that the Foodbank is relying on our generosity to continue providing food to those in our village in need.  The cost of living crisis is impacting local families, and bringing new clients to our distribution centre for our help. Our stocks are starting to run low. The Foodbank is in need of tinned meat, fruit squash, tinned vegetables (eg peas, carrots, potatoes), UHT fruit juice 1L (preferably apple or orange juice), 1kg pasta pack, UHT milk 1L (semi-skimmed), tinned custard, sponge puddings, sweet & savoury snacks, hot chocolate, shampoo and  conditioner.  Please do not donate out-of-date items. Thank you for your continued support.

SUMMER DRINKS AT THE RECTORY
Jo and I are delighted to invite you to an open-house Summer Drinks event on Sunday 24th July from 4.00 - 6.00pm.  Do join us if you are able.

THE FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY

Almighty and everlasting God,
by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church
   is governed and sanctified:
hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people,
that in their vocation and ministry
they may serve you in holiness and truth
to the glory of your name;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
AMEN

CONCERT FOR UKRAINE
A message from Richard and Ann Wylde

We would like to thank everyone for attending the concert for Ukraine on 10th July, your assistance, and contributions. Anastacia, Maryan and Hannah were touched by the reception they received, and we believe all that attended were impressed with the quality of their performance.  Some of the pieces played were very moving and complemented some of the information on the posters that were on display at the event.  We have been asked by several people to share an article by Stanilev Asseyev describing his personal ordeal at the Donbas prison camp - here is a link to the article.

Your contributions on the day were most generous and the Ukrainian volunteers in southern Ukraine are very appreciative of your kind and generous support.  Renos has kindly offered to keep the giving links open for those who are considering a more regular donation.  To date nearly £2000 has been raised.  To donate please click HERE.

We are, as you know, working with two dedicated groups providing supplies to other parts of Ukraine, as far as Odessa.  We have been asked to share the listing of items currently most needed in Ukraine.  To access the link click HERE.  If you have any used wheelchairs, children's car seats and pushchairs etc. to donate, please contact us and we can arrange to have them picked up from you.

Many thanks once again.

Richard and Ann
