CVAG Hours: 10am - 6pm, Wednesdays to Saturdays
Make Art Projects: 2 - 6pm, July 13 and 11am - 4pm, July 16

We invite you to join us outside on CVAG Plaza for two Community Make Art Projects this week. These drop-in art-making events are free, suitable for all ages, and will continue throughout the summer.

We will be joined by guest artist Meesh QX for a Make Art Project happening from 2 - 6pm tomorrow, July 13. 
The weekly Farmers' Market will also be set up outside the gallery on Duncan Ave from 3 - 6pm on Wednesday.

On Saturday, July 16, a Make Art Project will be happening from 11am - 4pm, and there will be lots of activity in Downtown Courtenay for Market Day from 9am - 5pm.

GUEST ARTIST MEESH QX
For our Community Make Art Project happening from 2 - 6pm tomorrow, July 13, we will be joined by artist Meesh QX, who will be guiding the public through drawing and writing activities to spark creativity. Meesh’s creative practice spans visual arts, film, audio, and performing arts. Across these mediums, Meesh is drawn to exploring topics such as identity, empathy, and listening. Click here to learn more.

CVAG's Summer 2022 Community Make Art Series is an invitation to engage with the current gallery programming by explorations, observations, and conversations that are seen in the exhibition 
Marlene Creates: Works from Blast Hole Pond Road, Newfoundland 2002–2021.

These free, all-ages, drop-in art-making events will be happening on Wednesdays throughout the summer.

A bonus Community Make Art Project will be happening from 11am - 4pm on Saturday, July 16 to coincide with Downtown Courtenay's Market Day.
LIVE SCREEN-PRINTING, PRESENTATION + ARTIST TALK
Interested in creative screen-printing? On Thursday, July 28, Wachiay Studio will be at CVAG as part of their annual screen-printing event, Squeegeerama. 

Starting at 5pm, t
here will be live screen-printing and a presentation of art from past Squeegeeramas. 

Starting at 7pm, the guest artist for Squeegeerama 2022, Dan Stiles, will be giving a public artist talk. 
Dan Stiles is known for his electrified posters using printed circuits, electroluminescent materials, and other gizmos not usually associated with printing

These events at CVAG are free and open to everyone. Enter CVAG's Lower Level Studio through Simms  Alley. 

Squeegeerama primarily consists of a week-long registered workshop at Wachiay Friendship Centre. If you are interested, register now -- we've heard there is just one space left!
