1 - The "3" Challenge

At the July 12th meeting, our new Rotary President, Wade Kolb, addressed the club & challenged all members to aim for 3 this Rotary year.

1. Serve alongside your Rotarians with Alexander Elementary School.
2. Participate in a Kringle Fundraising Shift.
3. Invite someone & have them attend Discover Rotary.

Who will be the first to get their 3 & proudly display a sticker on their badge?

2 - Join us Tuesday, July 26th at 12:05 "Growing an Ecosystem of Entrepreneurship in Greenville"

On July 26th, Eric Weissmann will be speaking to the club about his vision for NEXT and growing an ecosystem of entrepreneurship in Greenville.
Eric Weissmann is the Executive Director of NEXT, a Greenville, SC based organization focused on economic development through fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. Eric previously worked for Cintrifuse and was a leading voice in "StartupCincy" – one of the most respected entrepreneur ecosystems in the country.  Weissmann’s background combines corporate marketing for one of the world’s most-beloved brands (the Walt Disney Company) with the hand-to-hand combat that comes with being on the leadership team of several productive small businesses. ALL of that muscle memory comes together through his unique voice and ‘collaborate first’ mentality. You’ll rarely find someone more passionate about startups, their employees and the positive impact they have on the greater community.

Last weeks trivia: On Wednesday, July 13th, was the biggest & brightest super moon of the year. What is it traditionally called? Answer: Buck Moon. This full moon is most commonly known as the buck moon because male deer, or bucks, fully grow out their antlers in July, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. Bucks' antlers shed and regrow each year, becoming larger as the animals age.
