7/17/22

7/19/22
Rev. Gary Faleide will be in the pulpit this Sunday, the Sixth Sunday of Pentecost. His sermon is titled, "Which one are you, Martha or Mary?", based on Colossians 1:15-28 and Luke 10:38-42.

6:30pm-8:00pm Leadership Council Meeting via Zoom.
Note: We will continue to have worship services in the Chapel and on Zoom throughout the summer and into fall. Rev. Gary Faleide will continue to be with us. If there are reports of high temperatures, which would make in person worship unbearable, we would try to notify attendees that worship would be Zoom only for that service. There have been no decisions as yet as to how long we will continue to worship, but we do have a rental agreement with Ebenezer Pentecostal Church of God until the end of May 2023. Due to heat and summer activities, we had our last fellowship time in the lounge following worship on 6/5/22. We will resume fellowship time on Gathering Day in September.

Covid-19 guidelines from IDPH will be followed and future updates will be provided to the congregation.
NEWS FROM THE PEWS:
  • We were glad to have Rev. Gary Faleide back with us on 7/10, and feeling much better.
  • Mike Molloy and family have finished their trip to Canada and Newfoundland, and Mike will be back with us 7/17 providing tech support and live music. Mike usually takes summers off from Lyonsville, so we appreciate his willingness to be with us most Sundays this year.
  • Ebenezer Pentecostal Church of God, our new building owners, have been busy doing some outdoor cleanup and landscaping. on the property. They have also been working on the interior space preparing the sanctuary and other space to meet their needs.
  • Watch the E-News in coming weeks regarding information on applying for a scholarship for continuing education.
COVID GUIDELINES FOR LYONSVILLE
We understand that combining three main precautions reliably leads to safe indoor gatherings: mask wearing, distancing, and ventilation. Our policies are consistent with guidance and requirements from local, state, and federal public health authorities and our wider United Church of Christ. As conditions change, we will continue to review and adjust these policies.
  • Throughout the building, masks are optional, but encouraged, for everyone two years of age and older, regardless of vaccination status.
  • As a courtesy to the welfare of all, please provide safe space to others.
  • Windows will be open to provide ventilation whenever possible.
  • Please do not attend in-person worship if you are experiencing any Covid-like symptoms
For the safety of us all, we request good-natured adherence to these policies. Thank you.
