Independence, IA
Here are the events going on this week!

  • Tuesday, July 19th
    • 7:00 p.m. Picnic in the Park

    • 6:30 p.m. Blessed Promise Band


Church News and Notes:
Music Department Picnic
Tonight! Wednesday, July 13th.
5:00 Social Time, 6:00 Potluck.
We will have breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches.  Meat, beverages, and tableware will be provided, please bring a favorite dish to share. 



Picnic in the Park
Tuesday, July 19th @6pm.  The Pictured Rocks Lay Servant Committee will have a picnic in the park.  If it rains, we will meet in the Wesley Room. Questions, contact Nancy Steckelberg.

Ecumenical Offering
Thank you to all those who attended the ecumenical service on July 3rd.  The offering raised $1,964.30 to help with our Ministerial Association’s program, One Another, Inc.  The funds for this program are used to help people in various areas such as rental assistance, utilities, and gas vouchers.  We appreciate your generosity, and we will continue to be good stewards of the resources given to us in order to help those in our community. 


 
Outdoor Worship Service
Sunday, July 31st @9am.  Outdoor worship service @Reimer Park. If it rains we will move worship back inside.



Dollars for Scholars

Last May, Alek Gruber was presented a scholarship from Dollars for Scholars.  This scholarship was funded by the church.

Vacation Bible School
Thank you to everyone who attended or helped out with Vacation Bible School.

Personal Dignity Kits
The Mission Committee’s next project is collecting the items below to make Personal Dignity Kits.  The goal is 25 kits. 
The kits can be brought to the church and given to Deb Denton, Joe Steckelberg, or Carol Fisher.
