Back-to-School Worship:
Backpack Blessings, Yearbook Slideshow
On Sunday August 21, join us for a special back-to-school worship celebration!
During the service, we'll celebrate this year's "We Got Your Back" Backpack Festival and offer a "backpack blessings" prayer for all the Wesley children and youth heading back to school this fall.
Adults can get in on the fun, too! Help us create a "church yearbook" slideshow by sharing your high school / senior / yearbook photo. Submit your photo by email, or drop off a hard copy in the church office (to be returned to you). Don't forget to include your name! As our church family views photos in the slideshow, we'll have the chance to "guess who." We hope you'll join in the fun of back to school with us!

Church Library
Now that we are deep into a fascinating study of the book of Revelation led by Pastor Steph, it might be interesting to revisit (visit?) The Left Behind series, —at least in part— just to contrast that interpretation with the real thing. It is available in the fiction section of the church library. Authors are Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins.
Two special new editions of The New Testament have been added to the library’s reference section. The first is the Word on Fire New Testament by Roman Catholic Bishop Robert Baron which contains beautiful, co-ordinated art work and commentaries by well known saints and theologians. And, secondly, there is the New Testament translation done in prose format by Eastern Orthodox scholar David Bentley Hart. These two books do not circulate but you would be well rewarded by spending some time browsing through them to glean new perspectives on what the Bible says. card in the basket near the desk.

Lehigh Valley Outreach Depot
We at the Outreach Depot have ended our moratorium on doing pickups though we are still asking people to bring their items in whenever possible. Availability of volunteers, vacation schedules, and the fact that we are only open twice a week naturally affects the speed with which we can do this. Most needed items right now are dressers, end tables, lamps and small kitchen table sets. Thank you for all you have provided in the past and for your future consideration as well.
