Development Research for Oceania Pipeline (DROP) Program
From the Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) and the East-West Center (EWC)
The Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) and the East-West Center (EWC) are pleased to launch the Development Research for Oceania Pipeline (DROP) program, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This is a Research Award for up to $50,000! The program supports graduate (Master and Doctoral) thesis and dissertation research related to priority Pacific development issues. Awardees are to engage in policy-oriented field research with outputs developed in coordination with EWC and in line with ADB and regional development priorities.
 
Award Period
Commencement of research is expected to begin in January 2023 and end within twelve months. This should include research in one or more PDMCs as well a residency at the EWC for writing and publication.

Graduate Student Conference (IGSC)

From the East-West Center (EWC)
The East-West Center invites graduate students, and early-career professionals and scholars who have earned a graduate degree within the past three years, to submit abstracts for the 22nd Annual International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC), taking place in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, USA from February 16-18, 2023. This year's theme is "Recovery and Resilience in a Changing World." Therefore, we are looking for submissions from all fields that enable a deeper understanding and analysis of coordinated responses on various fronts- recovery and resilience- by communities and governments to challenges, specifically pertaining to the US and the Asia-Pacific region.
