Dear Families -

The Lord had great plans for young Daniel.  Daniel was very much a man who was faithful to the Lord even in very difficult times.  He was captured and brought into a life of service to a man whose ideas and beliefs differed greatly from what he knew was true.  Even under the pressure of being killed because he wouldn't pray to the king, but God his faith never waivered.

Daniel 6:10 , , , Three times a day  he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.  11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. 12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree.  "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human being except to you, Your Majesty, would be thrown into the lions' den?"

.I'm not sure that there are very many people who could withstand the situations that Daniel was put into.  Daniel is a great example of someone who always stood by his beliefs and his love for God.

Have you ever been put into a situation that required you to stand for something even though everyone around you thought and acted differently than you and tried to persuade you to do what was wrong?  Daniel prayed to God for guidance and found it.  God was willing and quite capable of helping him just as he is willing to help you and answer your call for help if you would ask.
