FREE TRAINING
Responding to Opioid Overdose

My friends and beloved neighbors,

Below you will find information about a training next week at the Dover Plains Library on the use of naloxone (often referred to as Narcan) to save the life of someone overdosing from opioids. This includes the free distribution of Narcan to those who participate.

Many of you know that the region where I lived until relocating here is the epicenter of the opioid crisis in the US. I have personally seen naloxone save three people's lives and kept a supply of it in my desk at my previous parish in Ohio. The opioid crisis is not restricted to Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, though. Our own region is experiencing a significant increase in overdoses. We can and should train ourselves to save the lives of our family and neighbors.

I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this state-sponsored program!

In peace and all goodness,

AJ Stack+
Priest-in-Charge
