Azule is a nonprofit arts residency/art incubation organization located on Hwy 209, just outside Hot Springs, NC. Our mission is "to provide an environment where artists and community meet, work, and learn together through the arts in their many forms." We host artists from around the world as well as serving as a retreat center for creative events.
Job Overview:
The Social Coordinator is responsible for managing all interactions between Azule, its resident artists, and the community that surrounds it. Duties include brokering interactions between arts residents, locals, and the larger community that has been tied to Azule over the decades, strategic and frequent use of social media, the newsletter, events planning, advertising and public relations work for Azule, and assisting Azule staff and board members with Azule-related materials.
Skills and Requirements:
● PROXIMITY TO MADISON COUNTY - this position requires frequent visits to Azule.
● Confidence in using various graphic, editing, office, and web applications.
● Ability to communicate effectively, diplomatically, and amicably with others.
● Familiar and frequent user of traditional social media platforms - IE Facebook, Instagram
● Writing skills or journalistic experience a plus.
Tasks Timeline:
Weekly
● Check and respond to Azule emails coming from staff + board, and current residents.
● Post at least 4 Azule or arts-related Facebook and Instagram posts.
● During the busy season, travel to Azule to gather photo, text, and video materials for future newsletter and social media use
Monthly
● Schedule, plan, and promote the monthly potluck.
Seasonally
● Attend a board meeting at Azule
● Publish a content-rich newsletter via Mailchimp
● Coordinate, create, and assist staff + board in various projects
Annually
● Plan Azule’s big yearly event, Fall Back in Time
● Plan and execute a donations solicitation campaign before end of year
