The programme will start in early September and HWES is looking to recruit more patient assessors, from across all backgrounds (aged 16 yrs or over) i.e. patients, family members, carers etc to join hospital teams.
Working with NHS staff and Patient Assessors you will visits various NHS services, including hospices across East Sussex to:
- Observe and assess the environment using all of the senses, highlight good practice and also where improvements are needed.
The assessments focus on key areas in relation to the environment including:
- Patient privacy and dignity
- Food (tasting, evaluating)
- Cleanliness
- Condition and appearance
- Dementia & Disability
No experience is required as full training will be given.
Training sessions will be in late August. All travel expenses will be covered together with any reasonable costs by agreement.
