Reflecting

My overseas adventures have continued this month as I escaped to Valencia for a few days with my friends and associates, Kate Smith and Audrey Pantelis. Spain was sweltering but we enjoyed the vibrant culture, the delicious food and the stunning architecture nonetheless. We even managed a cheeky day relaxing at the beach, followed by cocktails with our mutual friend Malarvilie Krishnasamy who moved out there a year ago.

Unfortunately on my return I got Covid, again! And the second dose was much worse than round one. It knocked me out for a good week and I am slowly on the mend now. I am looking forward to four weeks off to get my full health back.

Hosting

For the last few years I have attended and contributed to the annual RWBA Youth Empowerment Conference, superbly organised by Nic Weatherall. This year, like last summer, I hosted a DEI schools’ showcase to share some best practice from my network. It was a great way to end the year - celebrating the journeys that different schools have taken to make their schools more inclusive for all. If you missed it you can catch up on the uplifting virtual event here.

Catch Up

Facilitating

This month I have been facilitating leadership masterclasses on Social Media Presence, Personal Branding and Content Curation for the Fabian Women’s Network mentoring programme. It has been brilliant working with, and learning from, women from a range of different sectors. They are all navigating becoming public figures, serving their community, finding their voice and considering how they want to show up online. A few months ago I ran DEI training for the Breakthrough Party.  I am wondering whether I should take the hint and lean into politics?

Collaborating

I had some exciting meetings with new clients at the end of term which is hopefully going to lead to some new projects working with trusts, schools and networks we have not yet collaborated with. It is always great when people you have worked well with who move to pastures new, then get in touch to broker new projects. I have added a new page for feedback from clients here:

I was delighted to hear from the Teaching School Hubs Council about working with them to support their national network with DEI. More to follow!

Coaching

A number of new coaching clients have reached out in the last few weeks to book in blocks of coaching sessions for the Autumn term. My current offer is a block of four 1:1 coaching sessions for £600+VAT to use monthly between September and the end of December. I have availability for five new coaching clients and I will then open up new slots for the new year. If you are on the fence about coaching see the feedback from some of my previous clients about the impact the sessions had on them both personally and professionally:

Training

Check out our Autumn leadership programme dates…

Soulful Leadership Programme - Kate and I co-facilitated our first taster session for our new programme. Join us for our second taster at the end of the summer on Tuesday 30th August.

Regaining Your Mojo - I ran this programme lots during the lockdowns, it is a lovely 5 week group coaching programme and I have scheduled the next series of 5 weekly sessions in the later half of the Autumn term as we close the year.

Leading in Uncertainty -  this programme runs for 12 weeks and is a group exploration of leadership through adversity. If you want to develop your resilience as a leader then this programme is for you.

REAL: Women - I am excited to be recruiting for our third open cohort of the Resilient Empowered Authentic Leadership Programme. Check out the new pages detailing the programmes and sharing the feedback from previous participants here.

DEI Leadership Programme - Angie and I have three new cohorts starting in the Autumn term - they are all full/ sold out but we are running a waiting list and will let you know when we release the next set of dates.

Leading the Diverse Curriculum - places for the new programme that Bennie and I are co-facilitating have sold quickly, so we have released a second cohort of dates to join us.

The Inclusive Workplaces - I am also curating a new series with contributions from a range of different DEI trainers to explore the different themes that make for inclusive cultures at work.

Empowering

I used to regularly run #IamRemarkable workshops and I always love running these sessions and holding space for everyone to unpack their relationship with visibility in the workplace. I have scheduled three sessions for the Autumn term:

Also be aware that this year’s #IamRemarkable Week is at the end of September so watch out for the free events that will be held globally then.

Connecting

I have spent the last few months growing the #DiverseEd community on Mighty Network - this virtual community space is a great way to connect and collaborate with like-minded others in a safe and supportive environment. I am thinking about creating a parallel networking space for women in leadership. Would this be of interest?

We would be able to share blogs/ articles, create different groups for different themes and hold virtual networking events. If I build it and host it, would you join me there?

Listening

Over the last year I  have recorded 20 interviews with RLE associates and fellow consultant coaches for the REAL Podcast. If you are looking for something to listen to this summer here is series 1 and series 2 where colleagues share some brilliant reflections on what it means to be Resilient, Empowered, Authentic Leaders:
