Hi friends,

I'm excited to announce our next Life Group Leader Gathering for all directors, teachers and spouses on Friday, August 19 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at McLane Stadium. Ken Braddy, director of Sunday school for LifeWay will be flying in from Nashville and will be joining us for the evening. Ken has written a book around Life Groups and what a healthy balanced group looks like and will be sharing about this on Friday. COLLEGE MINISTRY INFORMATION LUNCH
Please share with your life groups: College Ministry is looking for people who want to invest in the lives of college students in various ways. Join the College Ministry for lunch on Sunday, August 7, in The Venue to learn more about the vision of our college ministry and to hear from Kaelyn Matthews and Will Bowden about ways you can get involved and partner with our church and Baptist Student Ministries (BSM). Lunch is free and we encourage you to bring your whole family, kids too! Please click here to sign up (but if you don't you can come anyway).

PRAY FOR OUR SCHOOLS
From the Missions Team: This year we are partnering with Woodway Elementary, Hewitt Elementary, Chapel Park Elementary, Horizons (Midway High School), and Woodway Christian School. We will have prayer walks at these school for this upcoming year. We want to cover them in prayer - especially during this time. You can pray with friends, your life group, or on your own.

August 4

There are other Back to School activities on VOMO if you would like to volunteer or serve at any of them. Please take time this month during Life Group to pray for our administrators, teachers, faculty, parents, and students. Pray God's protection over them and a joy of learning rather than fear. Pray Christian teachers and students would be bold in sharing the gospel.

PROMOTION SUNDAY // AUGUST 14
We will have breakfast tacos for all Life Groups in the foyer starting at 9:15 am - 11:00 am. This is a great day to wear your Life Group shirt. If you need a new one then grab one from the shirt box in the Life Group office on the 2nd floor. If you would like to join Carrie in the foyer to tell guests about your life group then send an email to cburrows@firstwoodway.org.

LIFE GROUP LEADER GATHERING // AUGUST 19
It's a new Life Group year! LG teachers, directors, and their spouses are invited to come join us for a special evening of good conversations, a great talk about Life Groups, awesome food from the Baylor Club, round table discussion and of course dessert! Hope you can make it! We will start at 6:00 pm and end by 9:00 pm at McLane Stadium. I'll let you know the specific location at the stadium next week. RSVP here!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT ADULT DISCIPLESHIP // STARTS BACK AUGUST 24
Our Wednesday evening discipleship classes will start again on August 24. The discipleship brochure and a chance to register for these classes will be available soon!
