Volunteers Needed This Week and Next!

It's August already! The inaugural Putting for Pediatrics Golf Scramble Fundraiser is just around the corner, and we need the help of volunteers to make it successful! There are several tasks we will need help with this week leading up to the event (filling player goodie bags and picking up items from stores), and we will need a few more hands on deck during the event on Monday.

Upcoming Events

Some Updates on Upcoming events:

We have had to pull out of another event on August 5 due to not having enough volunteers before the deadline.
- We will no longer be attending the Hope Community Services Back-to-School Fair. We do not have trained volunteers available who can do basic screenings, so now our only event this Friday is the EmpowerOKC Back-to-School Bash. If you are available Friday afternoon (3:30-5:30), please contact Clarissa!
The number of volunteers needed for the day of the golf scramble has been reduced significantly! Hidden Trails employees will take care of most things, so now we only need about 8-10 extra people there helping out. We have 5 already, so only 3-5 more!
An event has been added for Saturday, August 13
More volunteers are needed for this month's adult clinic!

Hilltop Clinic is hosting our first-ever golf scramble to raise funds for the general operations of the clinic. Help us continue to offer a high-quality medical home to uninsured and underinsured children and further our mission of sharing the healing love of Jesus with our community by promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

Volunteers are needed to help with set up, clean up, and contests on the course. Times can vary depending on availability.

Our friends at the Christian Service Center right behind the clinic are hosting a Back-to-School Celebration on August 8th at their building. There will be free food, games & activities for kids and families, & backpacks with school supplies. This celebration is primarily designed to bless, support & love on the families we know through our ministries.

At the Hilltop Clinic table and canopy, we will offer information about the clinic and fun activities for kids. We need 2-3 volunteers to set up the table as well as greet families and talk with them about the services we offer. Flyers, brochures, and FAQ will be provided in English and Spanish. Volunteers are also welcome to enjoy the food and activities provided by the other ministries present!

This is be a FUN evening with lots of interaction with families!

Sigma Gamma Rho Back-to-School Carnival

To celebrate 100 years of existence, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is partnering with CDC, Good Health Wins, and National Council of Negro Women, Inc. to put on a back-to-school carnival! Their goal is to provide education through awareness and information about vaccinations and immunizations. We have been invited to share information about Hilltop Clinic! They are expecting 200-400 parents and children to attend. At the Hilltop Clinic table and canopy, we will offer information about the clinic and giveaways for kids. We need 2-4 volunteers to set up the table as well as greet families and talk with them about the services we offer.

Adult Clinic

Since Christ Community Health Coalition was started in December 2014, we have been holding clinics for uninsured adults on the 4th Tuesday evening of every month from 6:00pm to about 8:30 pm. These monthly clinics consistently require a good number of volunteers to run smoothly. We already have physicians scheduled to come and see the patients, but every month we also need two nurses, two or more Spanish-English interpreters, and two or more people who can count pills, make copies, and assist with other similar tasks. This is an awesome opportunity to share the healing love of Jesus with our neighbors in a practical way! The next 3 upcoming adult clinics are listed below, along with who has already committed to being there. Let Clarissa know if there is a volunteer spot you would like to take!
