Potential Staffing Challenges in the Coming Year

The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources shared the initial results of a May poll of higher education staff, finding that more than half are considering leaving their current role in the next year. Leading reasons for considering leaving were related to salary increases, opportunities to work remotely, flexible schedules, or a promotion or shift in responsibilities.

The report claimed burnout played a significant part in staff members’ desire to leave their roles, with about two-thirds of employees saying they were currently working more hours than what their university considered full time.
