Summer Preaching Schedule

How grateful we are for the rich series of summer services that is being arranged for our spiritual nourishment. All summer services begin at 10:30 a.m., and will be held in our ESG sanctuary. You are invited to attend in person, or online. Each service will offer the rich tapestry of inspiring music, participation by some of our ESG members, and a meaningful reflection offered by a variety of preachers. Do come. Your presence will enrich and strengthen the experience of worship for us all.
  • August 14 and 21 -  Rev. Dr. Paul Hutchison will be the preacher for each of these services.
  • August 28 - Rev. Don Parsons is preaching. “A new heaven and a new earth…”
  • September 4 - Doug Reid is preaching.

A Workshop in the ESG Garden

August 11 at 5 pm

Join the ESG Summer Grow Staff  at 5 pm today for a fun afternoon in the ESG garden at our "One Month Crops" Workshop! You will have the chance to start your own microgreens and learn about their nutritional value. You will also learn about the best ways to cultivate and maintain your microgreen garden, and what to do with your harvest. Microgreens are a great option for bringing fresh, nutrient rich produce into your home! Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself and lots of questions!

ESG Reads Book Discussion Group

Book lovers can enjoy lively conversation once a month at ESG Reads. We are planning on continuing ESG Reads for the next program year and have picked books for the first few months. We are anticipating returning to an in-person format at the church, in September. Anyone is welcome to attend!

We will be meeting at 7:30 pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month (except for December and June).

The schedule is as follows:
  • Sept 20/2022   "Project Hail Mary" - Andy Weir
  • Oct 25/2022   "Happiness for Beginners" - Katherine Center
  • Nov 22/2022   "Midnight Library" - Matt Haig
  • Jan 24/2023    "Mrs. Queen Takes the Train" - William Kuhn
  • Feb to May book selections will be decided later in the fall.

ESG Little Free Pantry

During the summer, many of us are fortunate enough to be able to leave the city for periods of time.
The summer months make little difference to people who are in situations that are less than ideal. The absence of our neighbours and ourselves means that the Little Free Pantry will stand empty after the ESG donation has been taken. This will affect the well being of the folks that have come to use the pantry on a regular basis.
If you are going to be in the city, please consider dropping by the church during the week with a donation for the Little Free Pantry. If you walk, make the Pantry your destination. A can of pasta sauce and a box of pasta, or a jar of peanut butter and a tin of tuna will be much appreciated by one of our regular “guests”.
If you are attending a Sunday service, please remember to drop off a little something for our “food box” inside the church. We use every donation in our bags that we prepare for the pantry.
Thank you for thinking of the ESG Little Free Pantry this summer.
