As July comes to an end, I want to share some updates. Students in Kindergarten will be getting their room assignments by July 29th. All other students will receive their room assignments on August 5th. Parents who are new to Thorp need to register for our Friday Letter as well as for our Parent Portal. The Friday Letter is sent out each week to let you know about upcoming events throughout the school year. Parent Portal is how you can monitor your child's academic progress throughout the school year.
Supplies:
All supply lists are available on our website. We encourage you to use the PDF's but if you use the teacherlists.com site; please carefully review your orders before clicking "submit".
Summer Hours:
Our summer hours are 7:30 - 2:30 but you should always text us at 312.600.7112 and let us know especially if you are planning to visit us. We have limited staff and may not have anyone in the office.
We have quite a few other volunteer opportunities during the school year. We would love for you to connect with other parents while we work together to improve our school. Please fill out our parent volunteer form to help us organize this school year and pick a group that you can connect with!
Painting Classrooms:
We are asking for parent volunteers to help us paint the classrooms and bathrooms on the first floor the week of 8/06 to 08/13. These projects benefit the school and also help us build community among our parents, staff and students. If you can volunteer please email us at thorpadmin@cps.edu with the subject line: "Let's paint!"
