Drax is proud to support jobs and skills development across Yorkshire & the Humber.

We’d like to say congratulations to Drax Technical Apprentices Philip Atkinson, Simran Ley and Finlay Leggott, as well as Operations Engineer Simon Wiles and Training Manager Jamie Welch, who all recently completed their Carbon Capture and Storage pilot courses at Selby College.
Our partnership with Selby College, including supporting local young people interested in STEM, underpins our commitment to delivering skilled jobs across the Humber as part of Drax’s bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) project.
Drax recently submitted plans to build BECCS at Drax. BECCS will protect and create 10,000 jobs during its construction and boost economic growth across the North on the road to net zero.

We have made great progress, but there is still more to do and we need your support to show Government and your MP how important projects like BECCS are to our region.

Click here to tweet your support for scaling up BECCS at Drax to deliver skilled jobs across Yorkshire & the Humber and support UK energy security.

Stay tuned for information on how you can get involved
