Welcome back! With the summer holidays upon us many chess players take a break from chess, but there are a few events in August and then September to look forward to!

118th British Chess Championships

Date: Monday 8th - Friday 12th August (for age-based events)
Venue: Riviera International Centre, Torquay
Entry fee: £50
Time control: 90mins + 30s increments

Want to be a British Chess Champion? There are age championships for U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16. 7 rounds over 5 days, all FIDE-rated standardplay. The main Championships begins on Saturday 13th August, and other events take place during this second week. Enter online at www.britishchesschampionships.co.uk

Warwickshire Rapidplay Championships

Date: Sunday 4th September 2022, 10.30am-6.30pm
Venue: Kenilworth School & Sports College, Leyes Lane, Kenilworth CV8 2DA
Entry fee: £15
Time control: 15mins + 10s increments

7 rounds, FIDE-rated. Four sections: Open, U2000, U1750, U1500. Enter online at http://wrc.warwickshirechess.org

Junior 4NCL Online - Season 6

Date: Thursday 8th September, then fortnightly at 6pm
Venue: Lichess.org
Entry fee: FREE
Time control: 10mins + 5s increments
