August is National Make-A-Will Month! As we look ahead this month to ensuring a sustainable, secure future by protecting the ocean through science and advocacy, PWF encourages you to do the same and consider protecting YOUR future by creating a will.

Why estate planning? Thinking about what’s included in your estate can feel confusing, but it’s essentially all your assets — like your home and car. No matter what your estate includes, everyone needs a plan. That’s why we’re sharing our partnership with FreeWill, a FREE online tool that can help you think through your estate assets and make a plan in about 20 minutes.

FreeWill’s estate planning tools are available for you to take this important step to secure your future. Two-thirds of Americans don’t have a plan, and many in our community may not have a trusted place to start! FreeWill has helped more than 500,000 people complete this essential process and even makes it easy to support Pacific Whale Foundation through an optional planned gift in your plan.

Because of generous bequests and donations from supporters like you, PWF's Research team can share critical research at global conferences like Society for Marine Mammalogy Conference (SMM 2022), happening now through Aug. 5! 

Sharing scientific research is essential for worldwide conservation initiatives to sustain whale and dolphin populations. PWF works with partners to ensure relevant studies inform other researchers and decisionmakers of our findings so they can better protect marine animals in their area.
