Presidents Column
Vale Pp Phil Dudgeon 3rd August 2022, our sympathy is with Sandy and their family.
Thank you, Chris Curtis, for a wonderful tribute to an amazing man.
Membership minute:
The Club Board reaffirmed our 4 honorary members and we wish Moey Nirui all the best in his future endeavours as he bids farewell to Rotary.
It’s time for each of us to connect with Lanecovians who contribute to our community.
Let’s share our blend of fellowship, fundraising and Rotary projects over a cup of coffee with a friend or colleague.
Thank you for adapting to our new meeting format, including in-person dinners and Zoom, which will continue until January 2023.
We have a busy schedule involving the Lane Cove community in the lead up to the Fair.
Silvio will circulate a raffle roster to support our fundraising efforts.
As Spring approaches its time to connect with community and our Club has a busy schedlue.

It was our great pleasure to have Gillian Batt, CEO of Sydney Community Services as our guest speaker. We were given an excellent overview of the ever expanding services that helps seniors, people with a disability and their carers live independently in their own home and in their community. Sydney Community Services is a local not-for-profit organisation with Lane Cove Rotary being one of their ongoing supporters.

Isha Deodhar from the Beecroft Rotary Club was our speaker last week, giving us insights on the running for our upcoming Community Projects "Young at Heart Festival". She passed on invaluable information and guidance on how to involve young and old in the community to make it a success. - "Thank you Isha, a delightful presentation".

Sunday, 1 August was National Tree Planting Day. It's a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community. Proud to say that several members of our club took up the call and did their bit planting a quantity of tree seedlings at Blackman Park. Well done fellow Rotarians!

Sadly, PP Phil Dudgeon recently passed away on 3 August 2022. Phil is remembered as a wonderful man and a great Rotarian. He joined the club in 1983 until 2018, a total of 35 years. A kind and gentle man he was always generous with his personal time and talents. He was Club Secretary on three different occasions and Club President for the year 1999-2000.
Vale Phil, you will always be remembered as a great friend and great Rotarian.
