This Week's Meditation Suggestion: "Contemplating Stardust"
from Rev. Maurene Bishop

Here is one of my favorite quotes by our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes to meditate on:

"I am guided by the same intelligence and inspired by the same imagination which scatters the moonbeams across the waves and holds the force of nature in its grasp."

Raymond Charles Barker used the phrase "LUMINOSITY OF GOD" to describe the feeling of awe and unity with Spirit.  The recent pictures from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope is an example of this Luminosity.  The Telescope has delivered the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe so far.

Light from these galaxies took billions of years to reach us.  We are looking back in time to within a billion years after the Big Bang when viewing the youngest galaxies in this field.

The red Webb's image offers a kaleidoscope of colors and highlights where the "dust" is - a major ingredient for star formation, and ultimately for the formation of life itself.  Blue galaxies contain strars, but very little dust.  The red objects in this field are enshrouded in thick layers of dust.  Green galaxies are populated with hydrocarbons and other chemical compounds.

Let us give thanks for the magnificent, luminous
Universe in which we live and have our being!
