Hello Lakeway Families.

I hope that each of you are well. This past week we have spent time with our new faculty members. As a school leader I have always held to the principle of Great Teachers = Great Schools. We focused heavily on retaining high quality faculty and staff and recruiting high quality faculty and staff. This week I have been amazed at the talent and passion of our new faculty. I know that you will love working with them this year.

Please know that we are praying for each of you, and we look forward to seeing each of our students on August 8! I want to thank each of you for your help and support. As always, please let me know if I can help you in any way. Have a great weekend! Go Lions!

2022-2023 School Nutrition Reminders

Due to mandatory updates to the National School Lunch Program, breakfast and lunch purchasing are returning to a familiar format for the coming school year. Check the information below for more details and watch this newsletter for more information as the school year approaches.

General Reminders/Info:
  • Meals at Lakeway Christian Academy are pre-paid through the FACTS Family Portal account. Payment is not made in person.
  • A menu for the coming month will be available online later this weekend

Free and Reduced-Priced Meals:
  • Meals will no longer be provided at no cost to all students in the 2022-2023 school year.
  • To be eligible for free or reduced-price student meals, parents/guardians must submit a household income application. Reduced-price lunch is $0.40, and reduced-price breakfast is $0.30.
  • Applications for the 2022-2023 school year can be submitted starting July 1, 2022.  Applications can be found by by clicking this link.
  • For more details such as Income Eligibility Guidelines, visit the Tennessee Department of Education website by clicking here.

2022 Spring Gala Thanks

Football Content Creators Needed 

Football is looking for Content Creators!

Do you enjoy creating content? Do you have a passion for music, video, photography, social media or web design? The Lakeway high school football team is looking to build a team of assistants that would like to learn more about content creation, while building a portfolio that they can use after school!

We have a few different needs such as:

  • Filming for social media and other needs.
  • Editing content for social media.
  • Creating graphics for several purposes.
  • A practice DJ to select music and media for the video boards.
  • And more!

You could count this for community service hours, and we may be able to workout compensation for hard working individuals who stay committed!

Lakeway Band Friends & Family Show

Lakeway Band will host their annual Friends & Family show TODAY, at 7:15PM on the LCA football field. This show closes out the Lakeway band camp and serves as the debut of this year's show, "Becoming Tin." Come out to show your support for our band!

  • Returning Student Supplies Drop-Off - August 5, 1:00PM - 3:00PM
    (Only open to returning students; not mandatory)
     

  • First Day of School - August 8
     

  • Middle School Parent Open House - August 8, 6:30PM - 8:00PM
    (All Middle School Students/Families Must Attend)
     

  • High School Parent Open House - August 9, 6:30PM - 8:00PM
    (All High School Students/Families Must Attend)

     


Returning Student Supplies Drop-Off

In the dates above, you will notice the addition of August 5 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Please note that this time is for returning students to come to campus, drop off supplies, find lockers, and pickup schedules for the coming year. This event is not mandatory.

 


Locker Requests
If your student would like their own locker for the coming school year, please click here to request one. Lockers are opt-in starting this academic year so make sure to request one if your students wants a locker.

 

LCA Security Update

Officer Armando Fontes is joining the Lakeway Family as on-site security for the Lakeway Christian Academy campus. Officer Fontes is no stranger to Lakeway and brings years of experience in law enforcement where he most recently served as sheriff for Cocke County for multiple years.

Welcome Officer Fontes to Lakeway when you see him! We're excited to have him with us!
 

Upcoming Auditions & Try-Outs

Auditions for the LCA theatre production of "The Wizard of Oz" and for the middle school praise team and band will start soon. More info will be added here as it becomes available.

2022-2023 Dress Code
An updated dress code has been adopted for the coming school year. Please review the changes below and begin making any necessary orders from Lands' End or French Toast as soon as possible to ensure delivery toward the beginning of the academic year. Click here for links to these approved ordering sites.

Approved Outerwear:
Only outerwear with an approved LCA wordmark from Lands' End can be worn over the primary uniform Monday-Thursday. Spirit wear including sweatshirts, hoodies, pullovers, and the like is not permitted Monday-Thursday. An LCA wordmark polo or button-down must be worn under all outerwear.

Yearbooks are now ready for pickup. If you ordered a yearbook for the 2021-2022 school year, it can be picked up at the front office during the school's summer hours listed below. For any questions about yearbooks, email communications@lcstn.org.


 


FACTS Grant & Aid Applications

Reminder that the FACTS Grants & Aid applications must be completed each year to receive financial assistance for tuition for both new and continuing students. Visit our Financial Assistance page online for more information. The application for 2022-2023 is open now.

Getting Involved With the Lakeway Family Association

Have you ever wanted to volunteer at Lakeway and didn’t know how?

We are creating a Copy Volunteer team to help support the teachers. Here’s how it will work: each month a calendar will be sent out and you can select any dates that you want to work. On your assigned day, you’ll come at drop off and make copies that the teachers have left for you in the designated box. Want to find out more?
