Introducing...

A New Look for LCA!

Just like our neighborhood, Longfellow Community Association has evolved over the past 12 years. What started as a group of neighbors who came together to clean-up the median down 40th Street has grown to become much more.

Following the broader mission and vision statement the LCA Board adopted in 2019, we recognized it was time for a new logo that better reflects the scope of our programs and activities. Our new logo retains LCA's signature green, but shifts the focus from what we do to who (and where) we are.

Special shout out to our talented neighbor Saree Rice who designed this new visual identity for our neighborhood association.

National Night Out

Block Party this Tuesday

We're coming to you a bit early this month so we can include the latest details on National Night Out this Tuesday, August 2, from 6-8 p.m.

This year, LCA is proud to partner with Black Cowboy Coalition and Regulars Only to host a block party on the 900 block of Apgar Street. Come join neighbors Tuesday evening for some entertainment, food and fun. This event will be especially great for kids, because Black Cowboy Coalition will be offering free horseback rides!

Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out (NNO) is America's night out and a time for neighbors to get together to build neighborhood spirit and unity. Research shows that when neighbors know each other, neighborhoods are safer.

For a full list of NNO events registered in our area and around Oakland, visit the City's NNO page.
