Company applications are NOW OPEN for FIRST Jobs WIL, Fall 2022 cohort. This program is designed for Alberta Tech SMEs to hire a student or recent graduate from post-secondary institutions across the province, through our job board talent pool. As a participating FIRST Jobs company, you are creating jobs and building community in Alberta’s tech sector.

Section A: Instructions for Technology Alberta Job Program Companies
IMPORTANT: Due to funding requirements and timely processing, the deadline to select a candidate for our current intake of NExT Level is August 30, 2022.
Here are some steps/FAQ’s for your participation in the program.
- Case 1: You HAVE a Candidate Selected, but have NOT informed Technology Alberta:
ACTION: Please complete this short form or email info@technologyalberta.ca - so that we know you are on-track.
- Case 2: You HAVE NOT YET Selected a Candidate:
ACTION: Email info@technologyalberta.ca to get help with your job posting or finding the right talent.
- Case 3: You HAVE a Candidate, they have completed their work, and You Are Ready to Request Your Reimbursement:
ACTION: Please complete the NExT Level Careers - Reimbursement Request Form, and payments will be mailed out within 2-4 weeks.
- Case 4: You HAVE a Candidate, and are not yet ready for reimbursement,
There is no action needed at this time.
Section B: Technology Alberta – Job Program Plans for the Coming Week (August 1 - 5):
- Applications are NOW OPEN for FIRST Jobs September 2022 Work Placements
- Alberta Tech SMEs that would like to hire and mentor a student during the upcoming school semester are encouraged to apply. Application forms will be posted on our website.
- Companies CANNOT have participated in previous cohorts of FIRST Jobs
- Companies will be reimbursed by Technology Alberta to pay their student $20/hr for 200 hours, for a total of $4000
- FIRST Jobs WIL is provided by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Advanced Education

- NExT Level Careers Applications - now open for continuous intake
- Fully funded 100-hour work term, $20/hr for a total of $2000
- Alberta Tech SMEs are able to hire a young professional to work on a project at their company. This program is an excellent opportunity for a “working interview”, to train and get to know a potential permanent hire!
