Independence Woodturners
Mid-continent Public Library Display
Fill Up / Population
Hello Independence Turners,
Display Your Creativity
We have been asked to display our craft of woodturning for the public to enjoy at the Lee's Summit Branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library. (150 NE Oldham Pkwy, Lee’s Summit MO 64081.) The library building has just recently re-opened after being completely remodeled and updated. The new display case is twice the size of the last one we had the pleasure of using at the Lee's Summit East Branch. It is glass all the way around and is securely locked to protect your items. (Below is a picture of a previous display.) We have the display case from August 6th to September 1st. So, we will be putting our things in it on Saturday Aug. 6th. We will meet at the library at 10:30 AM to fill the display case(s) with your creations. If you have not turned in your intent, either by the signup sheet, email contact or personal contact, please do so, so that we can get name cards made to identify your work. These displays are very popular and they help promote our club and the craft. Please send an email to Mel Bryan (mrwudb@gmail.com), or call him at 816-830-0107 so that we can prepare and plan accordingly.
The link above will show a map of the location if you are unfamiliar with the area. We hope that you can join in displaying the objects of our craft and beauty of the wood, forms and creativity to the public and the enticement of woodturning and our club.
Hope to see you and/or your work there,
IWT officers and board
