VBS 2022 - Returns!

This amazing group of 25 faithful servants brought VBS back to the village of Seine Bight, Belize for the first time since 2019. Thank you to each and everyone of you for the time, finances and energy needed to bring Jesus to the children we love so much. These team members are members of Pathfinders, St. Louis MO; The Crossing, St. Louis MO; Peace Lutheran, Waverly NE and St. John Mansfield, TX.

VBS Day 1
Our friend, Kirwin, created this video which shares an overview of Day 1 of Vacation Bible School. I have to admit, when I first seen this I was overcome with joy!

This is a short video of the kids coming together in the morning singing "I want to be like Jesus" . . take a peek and feel the beautiful energy that starts VBS every morning.

Grace, Ronnell and Jessica were having fun leading the kids in songs about Jesus.

Reading together is a special way of connecting

Children are placed in age appropriate small groups where the leaders share a Bible story each day. This years story was about Noah, Joshua & Jericho, Daniel & the Lion's Den, and Death & Resurrection.

Jake Schuelke leads the Sports Camp in the afternoons following Vacation Bible School. He was able to bring along sports equipment to leave with Kirwin (Christian youth advocate in the village). These supplies were a gift from the Northern Illinois District's "Bringing it for Belize" campaign.

Hi Friends of Belize Mission Society,

Happy Summer! It's been a hot one!

You hope you enjoyed the photo dump from VBS. I hope that you were able to take the time to watch the videos. A big THANK YOU to Tom Rohlfing for leading this team . . . this amazing, beautiful team full of Christ centered Palm Trees! Lord willing, he will return again next year to lead . . . pinky promise :).

This year the VBS team had 25 participants that served 200+ children in the village of Seine Bight. We thank God for a fruitful week of sharing the gospel and loving like Jesus.

Below this note, you will see an update on the Humble Partner in Mercy Care Matching Fund campaign. I'm just in awe of how the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of all who love and care for our friends in Belize.

Four of us return to Belize from August 6 - 13, 2022. Our main goal is to continue the interior work on Mercy House. Please add Sue Dorn, David Bruce, Joel Winningham and myself to your prayers as we follow the vision that God has placed on the hearts of the BMS Board of Directors.

UPDATE: We are slowly approaching the $20,000 raised mark. Not quite half way! Thank you so much to everyone that has sent in a check or clicked on the blue donate button below. I'm simply humbled (no pun intended) by your generosity and prayers. I love the little notes that come in with words of encouragement. Thank you for joining us on Christ's mission in Belize.

Mercy House is being constructed in Seine Bight, Belize and is located next to Christ Lutheran Church. All of the Belize Mission Society relational mercy care will point directly to the church. A Lutheran Campus in Seine Bight, Belize is where the Gospel is shared and the love of Jesus flows.

Mercy House will provide the village of Seine Bight with a new location for the dental clinic, medical exam room, meeting space, storage for supplies and the feeding program will be located downstairs to allow for more space and better visibility for Miss Harriet as she cares for the students.

The Belize Mission Society Board of Directors and staff would like to invite you to become a Humble Partner in Mercy Care! We have received an anonymous donation of up to $50,000 to initiate this matching fund campaign which will help advance our ministry in Belize. Rev. Herb Burch, Missionary Pastor, LAC Region Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, has shared with the BMS a need for the Belize mission field. The mission field is growing and more missionaries are being called to serve in the field. One immediate need is for another vehicle. Contact Rev.
