Please anticipate an increase in HOA dues next year. The amount will be determined later this year and communicated to all residents. Current year dues are $575. As we are all aware, prices on just about everything have increased, and this has impacted our subdivision expenses as well, from trash services to pool chemicals, labor costs for services and many other expenses.
Political signs
Per Lenexa City code, political signs are allowed in yards 30 days prior to the election date and must be removed by 2 days after the election date. Signs may not have inappropriate language.
Trees
We want to thank all residents who have removed dead or dying trees. We encourage all residents to have at least one tree in their front yard. With so many ash trees being removed because of the emerald ash borer, many of our yards need some help. Lenexa will help with the replacement cost of ash trees lost to the emerald ash borer if you have removed an ash tree that was within 15 feet of the street. The city will reimburse 50% of the replacement cost up to $200 per household for a shade tree that can reach in excess of 35 feet shade canopy and has a rounded shade canopy. Such trees include maples, oaks, black gum and ginkgo among others. The new tree must be planted within 15 feet of the street. For more information, please contact Curt Talken at 913 477-7146 or ktalken@lenexa.com You may also contact Ryan Alderson at 913 477-7164 or ralderson@lenexa.com. Both of them both are in the Lenexa Parks department.
Damaged trash/recycling bins
If you have a damaged trash or recycle bin, please send an email to bwplenexa@gmail.com. We are collecting all the info from residents who need a relacement and will send the info at one time to Republic Services around mid-August. Please include your name, address, phone number, whether it is a trash or recycling bin that is damaged and what the damage is.

Brookwood Place pool now has Wifi! The network name is BPPool and the password is Bplace2022! Please be aware that this is an unsecured network. We also have Ring cameras set up at the pool. Special thanks to Ron Davis and Thom Tomlinson for installing these upgrades!
We have decided to ext5end the pool season by one week; it will close at 9;00 on Sunday Sept. 11. This is due to expected continued heat. Because we had a number of pool parties, we are able to pay the additional expenses and still stay within budget.
The minimum age for a child to be at the pool without an adult is 13. Any child younger than 13 needs to have a parent or guardian at least 16 years old with them. This is for safety considerations. Please advise all members in your household of this rule.

Pool Party!!
Come join us Friday, August 5 at the pool for a Dive-In pool party! We will have an ice cream truck in the pool parking lot from 6-8 pm and plan to start the movie, The Sandlot, around 8 pm!
Feel free to bring floats to watch from the pool or extra chairs to watch from the pool deck!
Book Club
The Book Club selection for August is
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab
As long as weather allows, the book club will meet poolside on Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 pm. Please bring your own drink (no glass at the pool, please) and a snack to share.
Please be on the lookout for options for October (maybe something Halloween related?). Cindy Edgington will be compiling a list of future reads.
Questions? Please contact Cindy at cedgington@yahoo.com. If you'd like to be on a direct email list, please contact Cindy.

Wanting to make updates to your home? Great!
In order to ensure the work aligns with our Bylaws, residents must remember to contact the Architecture Chairperson regarding any exterior changes. Projects must be approved by the architecture committee before the work begins, EVEN IF YOU'VE OBTAINED APPROVAL FROM THE CITY. This includes any exterior changes or additions, new roofs, fences, landscape changes, driveways, patios, decks, painting the exterior of your home (even if it is the same color choice) and any project for the outside of your home. Bylaws can be found here.
