Week #30 - The Piano edition

TL;DR: I'm running a weekly newsletter with 5 songs and a short description, and a matching Spotify playlist if you want to subscribe.

For the non-Spotify readers, there is a Youtube link for each of the songs on the cover.

Week 30!

Happy Sunday everyone!

This week's newsletter: a selection of 5 amazing songs with a strong focus on piano

Aufgaug - Sonar

Some electronic music to start, with blending classical piano, live drums, and techno-inspired beats.
Dream Theater - Space Dye Vest

The closing track of Dream Theater's awake, mainly evolving around Kevin Moore's stripped down keyboards, compared to the rest of the album.
My Own Private Alaska - Where Did You Sleep Last Night

An eerie cover of the country classic only with piano and drums.
Antimatter - Lights Out

Another eerie track, starting with a scary siren, illustrating the dark times we spend in this sublunary. Fragile piano notes and a momentary guitar blow continue the parade of sadness
Yann Tiersen - Pern

One of the masterpieces of Yann Tiersen first full solo piano album, an hommage to his Brittany. Each piece referring either to a specific location on the island of Ushant upon which he lives (literally: ‘Eusa’ in the local tongue)
Until the next time, Godspeed!
