So if you or someone you know would like to be our new Social Media Guru or help out with generating some of our social media content (graphics or copy), please send an email to communication@wacopride.org with information on your background in Social Media and how you can contribute to our social media game.
A Welcoming Waco Update
Back in May, we shared some information about the formation of a group focused on securing an inclusive non-discrimination ordinance in Waco with the freedom to engage directly with candidates and elections. That work has continued this spring and summer, and one of the outcomes so far has been the planned hosting of a community conversation with Waco PD meant to address concerns raised around policing and the LGBTQ+ community (tentatively scheduled for September).
In the meantime, Chief Victorian (Chief of Waco PD) wanted to share the following message with the community:
Since our meeting is not until September, would you please share this link with our LGBTQ+ community regarding our Citizens Police Academy? I would really like to see our LGBTQ+ community represented. If anyone interested in participating would feel more comfortable waiting until after our social in September, then we’ll have another in the Spring. I just want them to know that EVERYONE is welcomed, plus I think it will be a lot of fun and an opportunity to see what their PD is doing.

Ways to Stay Connected
Parent Support Group
Many parents don’t know what to do when their child comes out to them at any age. This is a group of parents who have LGBTQ children that want to learn how to support, respect, and understand their children better. Waco Youth Pride Alliance
The Waco Youth Pride Alliance was created and led by youth in the Waco Community to increase our community's visibility, support, and understanding of LGBTQ youth. oin the WYPA Discord server or follow them on Instagram, @waco_youth_pride_alliance to stay updated on activities and events.
Waco Pride TNG (The Next Generation)
This is Waco Pride Network’s group for The Next Generation. Anyone 18-24 who identifies as LGBTQ+ or allies is invited to join us as we build our community in Waco together.
