Welcome to the August edition of the Pyramid Post!

Our Phase 1 Capital building works are well underway; with concrete repairs to the bell tower, flat roof repairs and major upgrades to the ground floor community hall and kitchen all in full swing. We'll keep you up to date with progress, and hope that our kitchen and community hall will reopen in September.

In the meantime, we're gearing up for a busy few weeks ahead... starting with Pedal Glasgow G3 (Sat 3 Sept) a day of bike-based entertainment and fun, featuring a 'big pedal' along local cycle paths to Glasgow Science Centre on back. We decided to make this a day of cycling and re-cycling - and are also hosting a community table top sale, textile repair workshop and junk modelling crafts inside The Pyramid too.

The following weekend our Women's Integration Network Harvest Feast will take place on Sat 10 Sept with Maggie's Culture Crawl on Fri 16 Sept and Glasgow Doors Open Festival on Fri 16, Sat 17 & Sun 18 Sept

If the noise and disruption from the building works allow - we will resume our regular yoga classes in late September, and will try to squeeze a YOU MONDAY wellbeing day in too! It's all go!!

GLOBAL SEEDS : HARVEST EVENT
Saturday 10 September, 2022   |   2 - 5pm

You may have noticed our new raised beds beside the cycle store where our Women's Integration Network gardening group have been busy growing vegetables for their Harvest event. This week, we planted sweet potato plants (fingers crossed 🤞 that the weather stays warm!), thinned out our spinach and lettuce seeds and (hopefully) got rid of the aphids that had decided our kale plants looked tasty!

The Women’s Integration Network (WIN) is a supportive and empowering women’s group that meets weekly at The Pyramid. The group celebrates diversity, creates a sense of belonging for women from all cultural backgrounds, supports women to challenge epistemic injustice and promotes meaningful integration in our communities for New Scots to thrive.

WIN is run by local community member, Olivia Ndoti, supported by Poverty Truth Community and The Pyramid. For more info - email kate@thepyramid.scot
