Double Your Donation & Keep Binc’s Safety Net Strong

Our program managers are hearing from 10-13 families each week (twice as many calls as last year at the same time), with book and comic store employees and owners trying to avoid having to make no-win decisions:

  • Will they go hungry or pay the surging cost of utilities to avoid the risk of heat stroke or worse?

  • How will they pay the surprise up-front costs for their essential medical care?

  • Will they risk the roof over their head or risk losing their car that they need to get them to work after losing their second job?

  • How can they afford to secure more affordable housing when they have lost all their savings and sick time to COVID?

Authors, and longtime Binc supporters, Kate DiCamillo, Ann Patchett, Will Schwalbe, and Garth Stein know just how difficult the choices are for many families. This is why they have come together to match your donations (up to $15,000) to help keep Binc’s safety net strong.

Today, you can join Kate, Ann, Will, and Garth, to make sure:

  • No one will go hungry.

  • No one will have their power cut off.

  • No one will have to postpone essential medical care.

  • No one will lose their home or their car.

  • No one will lose everything while trying to keep their head above the water.

Give today and double the impact of your gift.

Thanks to You, Binc Can Provide Critical, Timely Assistance

It’s estimated that up to 75% of hospitals now ask their patients, even those with insurance, to pay a portion or even all of their deductible and out-of-pocket costs before some medical services are provided. Often these requirements are shared only within days of long-anticipated surgeries and procedures.

More and more Binc is receiving panicked calls from bookstore and comic shop owners and employees who have to pull together thousands of dollars in a few days or have necessary medical care significantly delayed.

Read this month’s story about how you are helping Binc provide critical, timely assistance. And subscribe to our Stories for a monthly update on the people you are helping Binc help.
