As September begins, summer feels as it if has slipped through our fingers like sand on the beach. Despite the dog days of August, we had a busy month, participating in Arlington Heights' National Night Out and hosting a self-defense fundraiser event organized by our Young Professionals Board at J.P. Woods Martial Arts.

We've also been preparing for our fall PADS shelter season, recruiting volunteers and working with faith communities to ensure its success. You may even have seen some of our volunteer recruitment flyers in your community! 

For JOURNEYS, fall means a flurry of activity. The upcoming winter months means more people seeking shelter, and with our client intake now back to pre-pandemic levels, we expect a busy season indeed. 

We're also on track to move into our new building in November, so our staff continues the work of sorting through, organizing, and boxing up our things. Take a look below for some of the latest snapshots of construction!

There are two major upcoming events to look forward to. Our Annual Meeting will be this month, September 29th, 6:30pm at the Palatine Public Library. We'll discuss the past fiscal year and how it affects our work and goals moving forward. 

Our annual Bid for HOPE Gala will take place in November 4th at The Cotillion in Palatine. Scroll below for information on donating and ticket sales!

To increase the capacity to accommodate the growing demand for emergency and ongoing assistance throughout the region. The Building for HOPE capital campaign will construct a year-round, 24-hour, comprehensive two-story facility that will enable all clients, especially those with unique needs and challenges, to streamline their journey to stability by receiving on-site critical
supportive services, shelter, and permanent housing.
