Sunday School Opportunities with Kids' Ministry

Becky Boone is currently looking for volunteers to help with Kids' Sunday School this fall! Positions are open to teach or co-teach, assist, or be a story teller to groups aged 2 years through rising 5th grade. Click the link below for more details.

Childcare Needs

We have several childcare needs coming up! Open to teens and adults. Please consider helping out!

On Monday, August 15, Sycamore will be hosting over one hundred staff members from Watkins Elementary as they kick-off their school year! We would love to have your help on Sunday, August 14 with decor, or on Monday to keep the coffee flowing or help with clean up.

Modgnik Work Crew

Workers are needed for Middle School Modgnik, the amazing youth retreat that is meeting the weekend of September 9-11. Every spring and fall, nearly 600 kids and their leaders arrive for a weekend of fellowship, discipleship, and fun. Work crew helps that happen!

Open to high schoolers and adults who are ready for an incredible experience!

Our English as a Second Language (ESL) Ministry's main goal is to build relationships with our students and to show them the love of Jesus and share the Gospel with them through providing English classes.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in several areas. Please let us know where your interests and talents lie, whether it's childcare, teaching or assisting in a classroom, helping with snacks, or elsewhere. You don't need to know any languages other than English, and teaching materials are provided. Youth Event: The Amazing Race!
Saturday | August 6 | 10 AM-4 PM

A fan favorite is back this summer! Teams will 'race' to various locations and complete challenges for clues to finish the race! It will be a fun filled day and you can help make that happen! We need adult volunteers to help out at the various stations and to drive the participants from place to place. If you have any questions, please contact Evan or Allie.

Volunteers needed for Sycamore MOPS Ministry

What is MOPS? MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, but it's actually for moms of all ages and stages of life!

We're excited to have this new ministry starting at Sycamore with Shannon Earley leading. There are many opportunities to volunteer with MOPS, including being a prayer warrior, helping with publicity and fundraising, leading creative projects and researching service opportunities, providing childcare, and hospitality. If you're interested in learning more or getting involved, check out the registration or come to the kick off event on Thursday, August 18th, from 6:30-8:30 PM. Do you have a heart for missions? Mission to the World has several exciting opportunities for you to learn more about serving as a missionary and to visit missions in action in foreign countries.

LINK - September 23-25
An interactive event to understand more about missionary life with MTW. You’ll hear about ministry opportunities around the world, discuss common obstacles to pursuing missions, and interact with MTW staff and missionaries to discern more about your role in cross-cultural missions.

El Salvador Vision Trip - October 20-23, 2022
Meet veteran MTW missionaries Rodney and Jana Davila as they share their heart for El Salvador.

Southwest Asia Vision Trip - October 20-29, 2022
The Bible is filled with cultural, social and geographical references from this part of the world. We'll connect with a local congregation and spend time with ministry leaders as we seek to understand their situation, and ask the Lord how He might use us to encourage and build up His body there. Trip led by Leonard Liu.

Support Liberation Veteran Services

Help us serve Liberation Veteran Services! They greatly appreciate any donations of frozen meals, toilet paper/paper towels, and cleaning supplies (like Lysol). Dry goods may be dropped off in the church kitchen anytime. If you would like to participate with a meal, please bring a casserole, container of soup/chili, or frozen breakfast sandwiches to the church by 4pm, on Friday, August 19. It can be something purchased or homemade, as long as it can be refrigerated/frozen for later use. Be sure it is in a dish that you don't need back!

Please bring any donations directly to the kitchen and label for LVS. Contact Judy Righter with questions.
