Happy start to August! Concerts have concluded and we are in the homestretch of summer. For many of you, this will soon mean back-to-school season. If so, be sure to take advantage of the State’s sales tax holiday on school supplies dropping from 6.25% to 1.25% from August 5th -14th. We hope this summer in Burr Ridge has been an enjoyable one for you and your families. It is always a pleasure to come together as a community.

While our summer special events are winding down, there is quite a lot to look forward to in the coming months. On Sunday, September 11th, The Burr Ridge Community Park Foundation's
10th Annual Pedal the Parks fundraiser will take place, as will The Burr Ridge Village Center’s inaugural Festa Ferrari event. The Village’s next large event on the calendar is the Taste of Burr Ridge & Annual Car Show on October 1st. Stay tuned on our social media channels for updates on these events and ways you can get involved!

Please note, on Labor Day (Monday, September, 5th) Village non-emergency offices will be closed.

Sincerely,

Mayor Gary Grasso

More Details On Public Meetings

National Night Out

The Burr Ridge Police Department, in collaboration with the Burr Ridge Park District, Willowbrook Parks & Recreation Department, and Willowbrook Police Department, participated in National Night Out at Harvester Park on August 2nd. Officer Lukas Weeks was on hand to engage with families. He handed out Junior Police Badges and hats, took pictures, and gave children a chance to sit in his Squad Car! Thank you to the community for your participation and support. We are looking forward to future events like this!

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign to promote police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Secretary of State Mobile DMV

The Illinois Secretary of State’s Mobile Driver Services Facility will be offering Driver’s License Renewals, Illinois Photo Identification Cards, License Plate Renewal Stickers, Motor Voter Registration, and Organ Donor Registration on Wednesday, August 17th. These services will be held in the Board Room inside Village Hall at 7660 County Line Road from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Click here for more information on Mobile DMV details and services offered.

Police Officers Reach Service Milestone

Detective Michael Cervenka celebrated his 20-year anniversary with the Village on June 3rd.  During his career, Detective Cervenka has held several positions within the Police Department: most recently that of Detective.  He has received numerous community awards and is a well-respected expert on organized criminal enterprises in the area.

Sergeant John Helms started with the Village three weeks after Detective Cervenka and followed a similar trajectory; his most recent portion was in 2020 when he was promoted to Sergeant.

The Village of Burr Ridge is a safer community because of their service. Congratulations to both and a Village-wide thank you for your continued service to Burr Ridge!

Water Bill Payments

We have a new, convenient water bill drop box located in front of the Village Hall. Payments can be dropped off any time and will be processed the same day if made before 3:30 p.m. Prefer to pay online? The Village also offers an easy method to view and pay water/sewer utility bills online. You can find a direct portal link to InvoiceCloud on our Village Website Homepage

Sanitary Sewer Inspections

The Village of Burr Ridge has hired a contractor to clean and inspect the sanitary sewer pipes in residential neighborhoods south of Village Center and east of County Line Road (excluding Burr Oaks Glen North and Savoy Club). This work is scheduled to take place through August 12th, and only on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This procedure is the first of two major projects the Village will use to evaluate any future repairs needed to maintain a reliable sanitary sewer system for our residents and businesses.

For more detailed information on the work involved, visit our
Village Website. For questions after-hours or general inquiries about our sewers and infrastructure, please call our Public Works Department at (630) 654-8181
