Back from Vacation

If you’re looking for an opportunity to take an in-depth in-person workshop with me, I’ll be teaching All About Angles: A Planned Improv Approach to Quilt Design at Empty Spools in April. The class will cover the basic technique and a variety of variations. Students can choose to create a series of small quilts or one larger composition.

How is it August!? The countdown to the start of the school year is underway at our house. In July, we had a short family getaway to Sea Ranch, California. I enjoyed twice daily walks through the trees and down to the ocean. I used some of the relaxing time to page through a pile of quilt magazines. And we enjoyed board games and books.

After our time in nature, the kids and I did a quick trip to Southern California where they enjoyed some cousin time. It’s always so nice to be with my sister’s family, full of fun activities and adventures.

I returned home and finished the month with my Sewing Smooth Improv Curves Demo with Global Quilt Connection and the second half of Building an Improv Toolbox with The Colorado Quilting Council. Thank you to everyone who tuned in for my demo or attended class with me in July!

If your guild or group is looking for a lecture or workshop, please hit reply to ask me any questions you may have or have me check dates on my calendar. Not the program chair? Pass my name and email on and let them know which workshop you would be most interested in taking with me.

Happy quilting,

On My Design Wall

At Deborah Boschert’s July Follow Up Session I got a little feedback on my series of Personal Symbol mini art quilts that I started in her class… last July. My August goal is to start finishing these up.

On-Demand Workshop: Creating a Scrappy Slab

My first On-Demand Workshop is now open for individuals! Creating a Scrappy Slab includes all my tips and tricks for creating fabric from your scraps of any size. The course is a combination of videos and photo tutorials.

The beauty of an on demand class is that you can do it on your timeline, in the comfort of your own home. Want to take the course with friends? Each of you register individually, then you can work together on Zoom or in person.
