August Member Meeting In Person!
and Guest Artist:  Michele Browne

Tuesday, August 9 starting at 4:00 pm
Our next member meeting will be held in person on Tuesday, August 9 starting at 4:00 pm. The location is the Concord United Methodist Church, 1645 West St., Concord, Sherrill Hall. Our guest artist will be CAA Board member, Michele Browne, who will lead a make-and-take postcard project. Michele describes this fun activity this way:

"Everyone is invited to create and re-create with me at our next in-person general meeting!. I’m enthusiastic to share my “Crazy Junk Art” postcards. They are fun to create. And more fun to dispatch with your epistle post haste to a dear one! I like to cut up and use my not keen to save but hate to throw away scraps or curiosities. I try to make my postcards quick so I am not too attached and willing to mail off. Admittedly, some become dear to my heart. I will glue, paint, print on my cards keeping them mostly flat to fit in an envelope. You will find making art postcards uses a different part of the creative brain, they help us loosen up, relax and not take things too seriously. Please bring a few postcards for yourself or to swap. Bring any scraps, really ANYTHING goes. I even cut up old art books. CAA will provide helpful things like glue, scissors, acrylics. A few of my favorites are featured below (with my Crazy Junk Art stamp on the back)."

We will be raffling off a $50 gift card for art supplies from either Michaels or Blick! Each attendee will be given one raffle ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 at the meeting.

If you have not had a chance to join CAA, take a minute to click on the button below that will take you to our website where you can read all about the benefits of membership!
